Blue Chip Marketing & Communications began in 1982 as Blue Chip Advertising on Chicago’s fashionable Oak Street. Back then, the goal was simple, develop great creative work.
It seemed like the right business plan at the time because boundaries were already established.
However, we soon recognized that with those boundaries, advertising agencies had lost their bearing as innovators and strategists, and accepted their defined role as traditionalists. Blue Chip became disenchanted. We realized that these client partnerships were not necessarily business partnerships. They were drunk in style and “feel good”, but hungry for substance and results. We knew if we wanted to truly help our clients we had to change everything we accepted as sacrosanct about advertising.
We had to create a culture where creativity and accountability could unite. We were determined to empower both brand and sales, while developing a deeper, more enduring, and more profitable relationship with our client’s customers. We dreamed of creating the organization that we are so proud of today. An independent organization that knows how to create solutions for a consolidated, global market. |
